Caroline Barray

Caroline Barray was born in 1973 in France. She received a University Degree in Arts (DEUG) in 1991 and a Licence in Arts in 1994, both from the Pantheon-Sorbonne University in Paris. In 1993, she began studying at the National High Academy of Fine Arts, in Paris, where she was awarded a Masters degree in sculpture in 1998 and a post-graduate degree in 1999. In 1998, she did an internship at Coubertin's Arts Foundry in Paris.
From 1999 until 2000 she studied engraving techniques at the Arts Engraving Center "Bottega del Tintoretto" in Venice, Italy. In both 2004 and 2006 she was an artist in residence at the International Center of Experimental Arts "La Vie des formes" (founded by Mark Di Suvero), in Chalon-sur-Saône, France. Her work focuses mainly on the use of recycled metals. In 2007, her portrait was produced and broadcast by the French-German television station ARTE.
She lives and works in Venice, Italy.
